Wholesale dollar surpasses 1500 pesos for the second consecutive week
The official wholesale dollar closes the first week of September above 1500 pesos, at 1508 pesos, despite having retreated for two consecutive sessions. It is 25.01% below the ceiling of the exchange rate band, following the highest exchange pressure recorded at the end of August. The retail exchange rate at Banco Nación stands at 1530 pesos for sale, while the dollar on cards reaches 1989 pesos. In the parallel market, the MEP opens at 1528.13 pesos, the CCL operates at 1588.50 pesos, and the blue dollar is sold at 1545 pesos. The international reserves of the Central Bank (BCRA) increased by 315 million dollars, reaching 50.8 billion dollars, driven by the rise in gold and a favorable external environment. However, the BCRA only acquired 15 million dollars in one session with 898 million traded, absorbing only 2% of the traded volume, reflecting the weakness of the buying flow.
