The Stellar Development Foundation has added MoneyGram, Figure Markets, and Range as Tier 1 validators on the Stellar Lumens network. These institutions operate payment, tokenization, and security infrastructure and participate in the network's consensus layer operations. According to the announcement on July 16, the three institutions are expected to be integrated into the network quorum by mid-August. Tier 1 validators belong to the core trust set of the Stellar consensus structure and must meet requirements such as operating more than three geographically distributed full validators and maintaining an uptime of over 99.9%. MoneyGram is connected to Stellar through its payment infrastructure, while Figure Markets has launched regulated yield dollar products on the Stellar network. Range provides real-time monitoring and compliance controls across more than 200 blockchain networks. The participation of these validators adds a security operational perspective to the Stellar consensus layer, emphasizing the importance of security and compliance capabilities for network operators. This announcement does not imply any changes to the supply or fee structure of Stellar Lumens but focuses on expanding the validator composition and consensus infrastructure.
