OpenAI Launches Computer History to Replace Chronicle

OpenAI has launched Computer History, officially replacing the old version, Chronicle. The new version eliminates screenshots and instead records actions such as clicks, inputs, keyboard shortcuts, and app switches. These records will be organized into a timeline and local memory, allowing users to inquire about past actions, such as "Which file did I just edit?" or "What was I busy with yesterday?" ChatGPT and Codex can locate information from history. OpenAI states that the new solution consumes fewer tokens. The new feature can also recognize repetitive user actions and suggest creating them as Skills or Automations. Currently, Computer History is only available on macOS for Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, turned off by default, with users able to exclude certain apps and websites.
