In January-July 2026, taxpayers transferred UAH 411.7 billion in personal income tax (PIT) to the budget, which is 18.7% more than in the same period last year. In 2025, revenues amounted to UAH 346.8 billion. The largest volumes of tax were provided by Kyiv (UAH 99 billion), Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 40 billion), Lviv region (UAH 28.7 billion), and Kyiv region (UAH 25.6 billion). The PIT rate is 18% and applies to wages, payments under civil law contracts, rent, and other income. Employers withhold tax from salaries, and citizens are required to declare income received without the involvement of a tax agent. Taxpayers can reclaim part of the paid PIT through tax deductions for education expenses, mortgage interest, insurance, and charity. Since the beginning of the year, local budgets have received nearly UAH 325 billion in taxes and fees, which is 16% more compared to the same period last year.
