Gratification 2026: First time investing? How to recognize your profile before choosing
The upcoming payment of the gratification in Peru represents a concrete opportunity to invest and strengthen personal wealth in 2026. The current regulations establish that the payment must be made before July 15 for private sector workers and retirees, considering the usual remuneration up to June 30 and applying proportional amounts for those who have not worked the entire semester. However, this additional income can also be used as a starting point to plan and execute investment strategies, according to an analysis by Conexa Financial Group.
Organizing finances, the first step before investing
Before allocating money to any type of investment, it is essential to evaluate personal financial situations. Having an emergency fund, reducing high-interest debts, and defining the amount available for regular investment are essential steps. Christian Lobatón, CFO of Conexa Financial Group, recommends acting in an informed and disciplined manner when making financial decisions. Defining concrete objectives is key in this process. The expert suggests setting short-term goals, such as trips or personal projects; medium-term goals, such as buying a home or starting a business; and long-term goals, such as retirement or financial independence.
Types of risk profiles and investment options
The choice of investment vehicle depends on each person's risk profile. The alternatives are grouped into three main categories: conservative, moderate, and aggressive, according to Lobatón.
- The conservative profile prioritizes safety and opts for bonds and term deposits.
- The moderate profile seeks a balance between safety and profitability, using mixed funds.
- The aggressive profile aims for higher profitability, assuming volatility and resorting to stocks or cryptocurrencies.
Additionally, within the stock market, ETFs allow for investment diversification by replicating specific indices or sectors, and mutual funds provide access to professionally managed portfolios, facilitating participation in national and international markets with accessible amounts. In the case of real estate, there are options ranging from direct property acquisition for rental or resale to participation in real estate funds that pool resources from multiple investors and distribute returns based on the profitability of the managed assets. Cryptocurrencies, on the other hand, present a high potential for appreciation, but their volatility requires a deep understanding of the market and a high tolerance for risk, as price fluctuations can be abrupt and significant over short periods. There are also options such as commodities (gold, silver, oil) and alternative assets, which include direct investments in private projects or specialized funds, explains the spokesperson.
Training and diversification, keys to the process
Continuous learning is essential for any investor. Lobatón recommends "reading about financial education, following economic news, and using investment simulators before placing real money in the market". He also emphasizes the importance of diversifying investments and seeking advice from companies or investment managers with a recognized track record. The executive from Conexa Financial Group warns that past profitability does not guarantee similar results in the future. In times of uncertainty, opportunities may arise for those who maintain discipline and consult reliable sources.
