Canton Network is building real trading cases in tokenized collateral for institutional finance and on-chain repo trading. Societe Generale announced on May 13 that it will expand the development of blockchain financial infrastructure based on the Canton Network. Its subsidiary, SG-FORGE, plans to deploy euro and dollar-based convertible stablecoins on Canton. HIFI announced on June 17 that it completed an on-chain repo transaction with DRW. The transaction price was formed through Tradeweb's RFQ method, with cash and U.S. Treasury settlements occurring simultaneously. DTCC announced on July 15 that it converted DTC custodial assets into tokens for actual trading. More than 30 companies participated in DTCC's transactions, which included collateral provision, securities lending, and U.S. Treasury repo DVP. The institutional expansion of Canton shows a similar trend to the on-chain settlement experiments of Japanese government bonds. Societe Generale's announcement included plans and goals, but it has not been confirmed that all participants have fully operationalized. DTCC has proposed the launch of tokenization services for October 2026.
