Bitcoin Demand Shows a Shortfall of 127,000 BTC in Spot and Futures Combined, Analysts Say
Key Points of This Article
- Current market stability analyzed as a result of seller exhaustion
- Continued adjustments are possible unless demand aligns
Market Reality Indicated by Demand Metrics
On the 27th, Darkfost, an analyst known for his work with CryptoQuant, shared an analysis of Bitcoin's demand trends on X (formerly Twitter). According to him, the combined indicator of spot and futures demand shows a shortfall of approximately 127,000 BTC, indicating that it is still insufficient to resume a sustained upward trend.
Darkfost explained that either spot demand or futures demand continues to shrink, or that speculative futures demand is only temporarily supporting the market. He noted that this development resembles patterns observed during the previous bear market, emphasizing that for a sustained trend reversal, both spot and futures demand need to align, forming a consensus on the demand side.
Current Situation Limited to Reduced Selling Pressure
The chart presented by Darkfost highlights phases where spot and futures demand aligned, marked in green, indicating that these phases corresponded with Bitcoin's upward market. Currently, the combined demand remains at a negative 127,000 BTC, which he stated is still a weak level to resume an upward trend.
Darkfost suggested that the current calm in the market is largely due to seller exhaustion rather than a genuine recovery in demand. He warned that if the market continues without experiencing an extreme low demand phase accompanied by panic selling, adjustments may persist, and it is essential to monitor the current consolidation level that has lasted for several months.
