Bitcoin: 8 out of 10 Signals Turn Green in Just One Week
One swallow does not make a spring. While we observed a synchronized return of spot and futures demand for Bitcoin yesterday, another indicator from CryptoQuant further corroborates the movement, in an even more spectacular way. Of the ten market and on-chain components that the firm continuously monitors, eight have returned to bullish territory within a week, compared to only three the previous week. This reignites the debate on the end of the bear market, without closing the discussion on overheating. Key points of this article:
- CryptoQuant revealed that eight out of ten market and on-chain indicators returned to bullish territory in a week, sparking a debate on the end of the bear market.
- Bitcoin must close above $83,000 to confirm a cycle reversal, according to CryptoQuant, but significant profit-taking by whales could complicate this progression.
The figure is enough to turn heads among on-chain analysts. In its report published on August 25, CryptoQuant aggregates these eight signals into its Bull Score, a composite gauge that synthesizes all ten indicators into a single score out of 100.
This score jumped from 30 to 80 points in one week. Bitcoin has risen by over 24% since August 17, driven by spot and futures demand that has simultaneously increased for the first time since early October 2025. A score of 80 had not been observed since October 6 of that same year, when BTC marked its previous record at $124,000.
According to CryptoQuant, the speed of the rise is almost as important as its magnitude: several indicators improved simultaneously rather than the price rising on a single isolated signal.
However, eight signals out of ten, no matter how strong the figure, have never been sufficient on their own to validate a cycle. For the shift to be confirmed, CryptoQuant requires a weekly close above the 365-day moving average, a threshold that is around $83,000. Below this, the firm continues to speak of an early recovery, not a confirmed bull market.
Profit-taking by whales, the shadow over the Bull Score
And this is where the problem lies. A rapidly rising score can also fall quickly. CryptoQuant reports that the latent profit margin for investors has reached 20.5%, its highest level since June 2025. A direct precedent raises concerns.
Indeed, in early May, this same margin peaked at 19% with Bitcoin close to $82,000, just before a drop of about 30%. There is no guarantee of an identical repetition, but the parallel is thought-provoking. Between August 20 and 22, short-term whale holders already realized about $1.2 billion in profits, including a record peak of $614 million in a single session on August 20. At the same time, about 53,000 BTC flowed into exchanges, the largest deposit since June. This movement does not automatically mean a sale, but it opens up the possibility.
Such a clear alignment across so many indicators has not occurred in ten months. The next step for Bitcoin's calendar hinges on a single figure: a weekly close above $83,000, the only gauge that CryptoQuant retains to distinguish a temporary rebound from a true cycle reversal.
