According to The New York Times, the AI model aggregation platform OpenRouter announced the completion of a $113 million Series B funding round, led by CapitalG, the growth fund of Google's parent company, with participation from a16z, Menlo Ventures, NVentures under NVIDIA, and venture capital divisions of ServiceNow, MongoDB, Snowflake, and Databricks. The company's valuation exceeds $1 billion.
OpenRouter stated that in the past 6 months, the platform's weekly call volume increased from 50 trillion tokens to 250 trillion tokens, reflecting the acceleration of AI applications from the experimental phase into production environments.
