web3: Norway's Sovereign Wealth Fund Discloses Holdings in SpaceX for the First Time

Norway's sovereign wealth fund recorded a record investment return in the first half of the year. The fund, managed by the Norwegian Central Bank Investment Management (NBIM), reported a profit of over $182 billion in the first half of this year, with a return rate of 9.4%, primarily driven by the rise in Asian tech stocks.

First Disclosure of SpaceX Holdings
This semi-annual report publicly disclosed the fund's holdings in SpaceX for the first time. The disclosure shows that the fund holds 0.05% of SpaceX shares, with a corresponding market value slightly above $1.2 billion as of June 30. This is also the first time the fund has disclosed its investment exposure to Elon Musk's aerospace company.

However, SpaceX is not the largest position in its tech holdings. During the same period, the fund held 1.3% of NVIDIA shares, valued at approximately $61.8 billion; and 1.2% of Apple shares, valued at about $52.7 billion.

Record Profits in the First Half
NBIM CEO Nicolai Tangen stated that the performance in the first half was mainly due to good returns from the stock market, especially the rise in Asian tech stocks. For this largest sovereign wealth fund in the world, stocks remain the core source of returns.

As of now, the total size of this fund is approximately $2.34 trillion. Its assets are derived from Norway's oil and gas revenues accumulated in the 1990s, with long-term investments in global markets.

Holdings Cover Over 7,000 Companies Worldwide
The disclosure shows that the fund's investments span over 50 countries, holding shares in more than 7,000 companies, accounting for about 1.5% of the total market value of global listed stocks. In addition to stocks, the fund also allocates to fixed income, real estate, and renewable energy infrastructure.

From the asset structure, stocks account for more than two-thirds of its overall investment portfolio, which also means that the tech stock market's performance significantly impacts the fund's periodic results.

Additional Information: As of June 30, the size of the SpaceX holdings is significantly smaller than its allocations in NVIDIA and Apple, with the latter two still being more important tech stock positions for the fund.
