Wang Chun Responds to Stakefish Lawsuit, Warns of Risks in Retrieving Rewards Based on Off-Chain Claims

Wang Chun, co-founder of F2Pool and founder of stakefish, posted on X platform in response to the lawsuit filed by Oleksii Trofimchuk on September 8 in the Santa Clara County Superior Court against Lido Finance and Stakefish. The lawsuit alleges that after his wallet was hacked, competing MEV bots submitted high-priority fee transactions to claim ETH. Wang Chun stated that Stakefish, as a validator, only packages legitimate transactions according to Ethereum protocol rules and cannot adjudicate off-chain ownership or competitive asset claims. He warned that requiring validators to retrieve rewards based on off-chain claims would set a dangerous precedent, forcing validators to filter transactions based on unverifiable ownership claims, which would expose staking rewards to legal uncertainties and undermine Ethereum's decentralization and trusted neutrality.
