Spain burns 1.16 million SPAIN Fan Tokens after World Cup victory

Spain has burned 1,161,234 SPAIN Fan Tokens following its 2-1 victory over Belgium in the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-finals. This burn, part of the Burn to Glory campaign, reduces the total supply of SPAIN tokens to 27.25 million. The burned tokens are valued at approximately 649050 dollars, placing Spain at the top of the tournament's burn leaderboard with nearly 3 million tokens removed. If Spain wins against France in the semi-finals, the cumulative burn could exceed 3 million tokens. The Burn to Glory campaign ties token burns to on-field success, permanently removing tokens after qualifying wins. Belgium remains the second-largest contributor with about 870,000 BELG Fan Tokens burned. Argentina has also seen 160,000 ARG Fan Tokens burned after reaching the semi-finals, with its treasury burn allocation increasing from 5% to 7.5%. Portugal, eliminated in the Round of 16, had 208,000 POR Fan Tokens burned. Chiliz continues to enhance trading features for fan tokens, with LBank introducing perpetual futures for Argentina and Portugal tokens and plans for major football club tokens. Additionally, Chiliz has launched live weekly trader competitions to engage participants during World Cup matches.
