Semiconductor ETFs Attract $12 Billion in Inflows as Traders Buy the Dip Before Rebound
On July 31, semiconductor ETFs attracted approximately $12 billion in inflows ahead of a significant rebound. Although this only accounts for about 1% of the total assets under management for all ETFs, the inflows this week represented 25% of the total net inflows for ETFs. Speculative traders aggressively bought the dip during the decline from Monday to Wednesday, and the semiconductor sector saw a 7% rebound yesterday, yielding returns. Recent inflow data is at an unusually high level, with related trading activity significantly surging.
