In the past 30 days, Robinhood Chain has paid $23,390 in Rent Paid to L1 to the Ethereum mainnet, ranking first among L2s. Following it are Base Chain with $5,250, World Chain with $3,490, Taiko Alethia with $2,460, OP Mainnet with $2,310, and Unichain with $2,240. Rent Paid to L1 measures the fees that L2s pay to publish transaction data and validate states on Ethereum, reflecting the value accumulation for ETH holders. This metric is calculated based on the data availability and state validation fees of L2-related contracts, making it difficult to manipulate. The scale of rent primarily depends on Ethereum's gas prices and the volume of data published; higher rent indicates greater reliance of L2 on Ethereum's security and data availability, while lower rent may suggest reduced activity or a shift towards alternatives like EigenDA.
