The Polish government is considering the transfer of a new batch of Patriot air defense system missiles to Ukraine. A final decision may be made in the coming days, as reported by Poland's Deputy Minister of Defense Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czerniecka on RMF FM radio. The decision is being made with the safety of Polish citizens in mind and involves active consultations with NATO allies and the United States. A recent incident involving a Russian missile violating Polish airspace has been a key factor in assessing the situation. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the consideration of additional air defense assistance to Ukraine. Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz also supports the idea of transferring missiles, emphasizing that it is preferable to intercept missiles over Ukraine than to allow them into Poland. In July, Poland already transferred five PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot systems to Ukraine. This new phase of deliveries will continue this support after international agreements are finalized. Ukraine is requesting partners to provide 300 interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems by the beginning of winter, which would help counter 7 to 10 major Russian attacks.
