The Malaysian police have dismantled an illegal Bitcoin mining operation located in Tronoh, arresting two men and seizing 73 cryptocurrency mining machines suspected of operating using stolen electricity. The police conducted raids on three locations on Tuesday night, with the operation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department in collaboration with a technical team from the national energy company, following intelligence gathering and surveillance. Investigations revealed that all three locations were engaged in Bitcoin mining activities through illegal electricity connections, with two of the sites being abandoned houses with no occupants. The technical inspection by the national energy company confirmed the existence of electricity theft, while the third site was an unoccupied house.
