Kuwait and Qatar's Oil Exports Through the Strait of Hormuz Recover to 70% of Pre-Conflict Levels
Kuwait and Qatar have increased their oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, driving a rebound in oil transport through this waterway. Traders revealed that the two countries combined exported about 2 million barrels of oil per day before the conflict, and the current export volume has now recovered to 70%. The UAE was the first Gulf oil producer to resume large-scale exports through the Strait of Hormuz, using a "shuttle transport" method for ship-to-ship transfers, followed by Saudi Arabia. Currently, about 7 to 8 million barrels of oil are being transported through the Strait of Hormuz daily, up from 4 million barrels in mid-July, which is equivalent to three-quarters of pre-war levels. Vortexa reported that the oil flow through this waterway is approaching 10 million barrels per day.
