Cucumber Prices in Ukraine Rise to 30-55 UAH/kg
In Ukraine, prices for greenhouse cucumbers are rising due to high demand and reduced supply. Cucumber prices range from 30 to 55 UAH/kg, which is 20% higher than at the end of last week. On average, greenhouse cucumbers are 44% more expensive compared to the same period last year. Market operators attribute the price increase to a decrease in the supply of open-field products and delays in harvesting the second crop. Analysts do not rule out further price hikes due to active demand. At the same time, an excess of potatoes is expected in the market in September and the first half of October, which could lead to a decrease in prices. However, the situation may change in late autumn and winter due to the disappearance of potatoes from the market and increased storage losses. Weather will also affect prices: a warm autumn may increase the supply of vegetables, while a sharp drop in temperature could lead to higher prices.
