Bridge Reconstruction Over the Ibr River in Zhytomyr Region
In the Zhytomyr region, the reconstruction of the N-03 Zhytomyr --- Chernivtsi road continues. As part of the work, the bridge over the Ibr River is undergoing major repairs, with the construction of retaining walls and the arrangement of road surfaces. The bridge was built in the early 1960s and has not undergone major repairs since then, leading to non-compliance with safety requirements. Elements of the bridge are being dismantled, and a new foundation is being prepared, including bored concrete piles. At the same time, layers of the road surface are being arranged, including a drainage layer, the installation of geogrid, and asphalting. The section between Chudniv and Liubar is closed, and a detour has been organized. Construction and major repair works were suspended after the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, including the construction of the overpass on the N-03. Completing the road reconstruction is important for transport communication between three regions and the border with Moldova. The project documentation has been adjusted to account for changes in the cost of materials and services, and new procurements have been made. Construction work resumed in May 2026.
