Salvador di Stéfano, a financial analyst, predicted that the blue dollar could reach 1800 pesos by 2027. In an interview, he described the IMF visit as 'satisfactory' and stated that Argentina is maintaining fiscal balance and accumulating reserves. Di Stéfano ruled out a slowdown in reserve accumulation, noting that July was an active month for the BCRA. Despite the optimism, he warned about the distrust of savers, who continue to buy dollars despite an 8% increase over the past year against an inflation rate of 33%. Since the libertarian government took office, the blue dollar has risen by 60%, while cumulative inflation has been 300%, indicating a significant loss of purchasing power. Di Stéfano explained that the projection of 1800 pesos is based on the Market Expectations Survey (REM) and applied a mathematical formula suggesting that the exchange rate should be between 1800 and 1900 pesos in a year, considering an expected inflation of 22.2%.
