Bitcoin’s Bull Run Isn’t Over — It’s Just Evolving, Says CryptoQuant CEO

After calling a potential end to Bitcoin’s bull run earlier this year, CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju has reversed course. Ju admitted that his bearish view following Bitcoin’s dip below $80,000 was premature—and that the landscape has fundamentally changed. Unlike previous market cycles dominated by whales, miners, and retail traders playing a predictable rotation game, Ju now sees a new dynamic unfolding. The entrance of spot ETFs, corporate treasuries like MicroStrategy, and traditional institutions has redefined how liquidity flows through the market. “In the past,” he reflected, “cycle tops were easy to spot—whales sold into drying retail liquidity, and everything crashed like clockwork.” That model, he now says, no longer applies. Instead, Bitcoin is entering an era where institutional demand and ETF inflows can override typical selling pressure—even from large holders. Ju suggests that the focus must now shift away from old players offloading BTC and toward tracking the volume and persistence of new capital entering from the TradFi sector. In his words, it’s time to retire outdated market theories. Bitcoin, once a self-contained game of timing exits, is now embedded in a broader financial ecosystem where institutional capital can drive sustained growth—even through heavy sell-offs.
