Bitcoin Fluctuates Around $63,900 Despite Bank of Japan's Rate Freeze
Bitcoin (BTC) is trading around $63,900 (approximately 91.4 million KRW) with little fluctuation, despite the Bank of Japan's decision to keep interest rates unchanged. The Bank of Japan maintained its benchmark rate at 1%, and Governor Kazuo Ueda hinted at the possibility of tightening, citing that inflation could exceed 2%. However, the market's reaction was limited. In the foreign exchange market, the yen gave back its gains immediately after the announcement, and the dollar-yen exchange rate returned to previous levels. The weakness of the yen is encouraging a 'carry trade' that stimulates the movement of funds into risk assets, and the AI investment cycle shows a strong correlation with Bitcoin. In the altcoin market, Ethereum (ETH) showed limited movement around $1,885 (approximately 2.7 million KRW), while BNB rose by about 3.5% on a daily basis and 4.4% weekly to around $591 (approximately 846,000 KRW). Currently, Bitcoin is in a phase waiting for new catalysts, with interest rate policies, exchange rate variables, and the sustainability of the AI investment cycle being key factors that will determine the next direction.
