Analysts: The European Central Bank is expected to raise interest rates as early as next week, facing tough choices regarding oil prices and policies
According to Jinshi reports, KBC Bank analysts stated in a report that the bank expects the European Central Bank to raise interest rates at next week's policy meeting or in April.
Analysts pointed out that if there is no unexpected ceasefire this weekend, the European Central Bank will face oil prices at $100 per barrel and difficult policy choices when it meets next Thursday. LSEG data shows that the money market expects the European Central Bank to keep interest rates unchanged in March and to factor in an interest rate hike of about 7.5 basis points for April.
